Copycatting 37 signals sketch with a sharpie!
What have I been up to, beside ranting on climate change? I don't want to say too much just yet, but it is a web app or service or ... It is fun (I think so anyway) and, in the process, I am re-discovering web development, of which I had done very little over the past 3 years.
I thought about going the web framework way but, because I have done so little web dev lately, I found it too steep a learning curve just yet. While investigating the matter I kept wondering why do they make it so complicated?
Instead I have decided to work with a carefully selected set of tools (I replaced SQLAlchemy with Storm in my initial list), which seem to fit the way my brain work.
It is slowly coming together. I suppose that as I go, I will experience some of the limitations and frustrations that make web frameworks a must have in a web dev toolbox ... then see the light and follow the framework route :P
Now I understand much better why there are so many Python web frameworks. No, quoting 37 signals doesn't mean I am going to go Ruby nor RoR.
