Arghhhh Wubi and Gutsy don't play well together :( I tried migrating using the update-manager last night, it looked like it worked but when I rebooted I faced the HAL problem.

I read afterwards plagues systematically Wubi users i.e. people who installed Ubuntu using Wubi. So if you did then don't ;)

Fortunately, this time, the live CD works on my machine! So I resorted to doing a fresh install. It means I will waste a fair amount of time re-installing stuff but it is well worth it!

I turned off all the special effects, they are making me dizzy :P I turn them on when I want to show off but working with them everyday must be exhausting!

Fonts look much better!
