Attended the Net Lille Métropole 2007 conference today! I am in a shitty mood so not sure I am very objective so I'll rant :P

Jack Barlett sucks big time! Found it utterly lame to start the conference with his stupid buggy one man show.

The plenary session wasn't too bad ! Thanks to Bernard Ourghanlian I learned about the Metaverse initiative and the not so subtle distinctions between:

• Virtual Worlds
• Mirror Worlds
• Augmented Reality
• Lifelogging.

Riyako Suketomo gave an interesting perspective on Japanese specificities! I thought Samuel Morillon was the speaker most on top of his subject. It is amazing to see that more than 15 years after the publication of Convoi TM, the world is still lagging behind Smolderen's vision :P

I attended the augmented reality augmented virtuality workshop in the afternoon (animated by Christophe Chaillou whom I briefly worked for in 1996). It was interesting! I especially liked François Gruson's down to earth intervention but all speakers had something interesting and entertaining to say ...
