Wonder why I have been so silent lately? I am hard at work hacking on our new project. This time we decided to give Django a serious bash. So far I do relate to this post : Why Frameworks Suck! I'll blame our ignorance for now but ...
Django seems to make the easy in web dev trivial and the more involved aspects super hard to implement (it gets in the way too much for my liking). Beside the auto admin nothing impresses me so far (which is already further that many people will go I guess). I miss Mako big time!
I guess I need to learn more about it. Nothing beats hands on experience! We are hoping to have a martyr release by the end of May!
On the testing front, I bought An Introduction to Testing Web Applications with twill and Selenium a few weeks ago. Very well done and instructive. I am intrigued and excited about the following statement (top of page 28):
Twill rocks! I don't think I want to get into Selenium (for now anyway).
