Présentation sur l'herbe ;)

On Friday I attended the inauguration of the company les racines du ciel and the association capital altruiste. The purpose of the latest is to promote a new way for companies to contribute by donating capital to NGO instead of cash. The former has given 10% of its capital to a NGO protecting gorillas in Africa.

The purpose of les racines du ciel is to conceive and sell electrical 2 wheels vehicles such as assisted bikes and scooters. I gave them a go. I don't like the bikes much but the scooters were fun to ride even though I find them dangerous for others (you don't hear them coming) :P

Learning from mistakes only start at age 12 but when does it stop :D

Finally after looking briefly (purpose, description, syntax but no actual coding) at several functional languages in the past 2 years (Scheme, Haskell, OCAML, Scala), I have decided to be a cool kid and learn Erlang! It is more than a FP itch I should be able to scratch with Erlang ;)

Last but not least, Judy Esrin's talk about innovation (author of closing the innovation gap) is pretty interesting. Vint Cerf said thought provoking ;)
