That's a good way to start blogging again ... food for thought ;) Not sure where to start so this is going to be a messy post, best way to get back on the horse.
Today is the 29th of October, a deadline I have been expecting for a few weeks. I don't know the outcome yet but I find it liberating all the same!
I don't really like Django but watching James Tauber speak about Pinax makes me consider a future for a COlivri built on top of Pinax.
Check out Cloud 27 for a feel of what an out of the box (design excluded) Pinax installation can do :P
I have been thinking a lot lately about business related issues and reading a couple of interesting blog posts which I have unfortunately lost reference of (now I know one use I could make of micro-blogging :P). From where I am standing today I would sum it up as : building things can be a challenge but is doable, selling is another ball game.
I have long been aware of the importance of execution, and stress it all the time when people freak about me being so open about my ideas yet I think the imagination VS execution rhetoric fails to convey the full picture which I would describe as a 4 nodes graph : learn, imagine, build, sell!
I still have some work to do to figure out suitable descriptions of the edges of that graph :P
I got my hands on Programming Erlang and having a blast reading it and playing with Erlang ... you'll read more about that in the future I suspect.
On the education front, I am trying to follow the introduction to algorithms class at MIT and the machine learning course at Stanford, while not giving up on the many fascinating talks happening at Google (such as Think faster focus better and remember more, rewiring our brain to stay younger).
Last but not least I fell in love with gnome-do thanks to Mark Pilgrim.
I am back :P
